After receiving his bachelor's degree in zoology and chemistry at Weber State University in Utah, Dr. Woolley attended Des Moines University to complete his podiatric medical schooling. There he received academic scholarships, and during his fourth year of medical school was accepted to receive specialized foot and ankle externship training in Boston at Beth Israel Deaconess with Harvard, at Scripps Mercy in San Diego, and at Legacy/Kaiser in Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Woolley then completed a 3 year surgical residency program with Intermountain Medical Center - a level 1 trauma center in Salt Lake City, Utah. His surgical training was extensive in both major and minor surgeries of the foot and ankle – including bunions, fractures, trauma, ankle arthroscopy, reconstructive surgery, flat foot realignment, tendon ruptures, and many other injuries and conditions of the foot and ankle. He also participated in additional external ring fixation training done at Texas Scottish Rite Orthopedic Children's Center.

A lifetime of participating competitively and recreationally in sports, coupled with the trauma training he has received during externships and residency has given Dr. Woolley an excellent background to many common foot & ankle injuries and complaints.

Dr. Woolley is an avid hiker. He also enjoys cooking, woodworking, traveling and speaks fluent Dutch. He particularly enjoys spending time with his wife and their two sons.

In addition to his surgical abilities Dr. Woolley prides himself on, and finds great satisfaction in, successful doctor-patient relationships. He believes that communication and education are a vital part of complete patient care.
